Dr Jennifer Bromley
Head of Plant Research and Development, Vertical Future
As Head of Plant Research and Development, Dr Bromley established and also leads Vertical Future’s R&D function with the goal of defining critical areas of R&D to support technology clients and to diversify the range of opportunities for vertical farm operators. She has a BA in Natural Sciences from St Catharine’s College, Cambridge and completed a Ph.D in Plant Sciences at University of Cambridge in 2009.
After her Ph.D, Jen completed 3 post-doctoral research positions and later moved to work in industry reaching the position of Head of Computational Biology and Gene Discovery and member of the Global Leaf Science leadership team at British American Tobacco. It was during her Ph.D and postdoctoral research that Jen realised – and what later led her to Join Vertical Future – the importance of plant science to society and the economy through improvements to nutrition, reduced crop losses and also through the wellbeing benefits of working with plants.
